- Heaterk D-glass fiberglass Fabric-

D-glass fiberglass—also referred to as low-dielectric, alkali-free glass fiber—is engineered for advanced electronic and RF composite systems. Compared to standard E-glass (εr ~6.2), D-glass achieves a 50% lower dielectric constant (~3.0) and dramatically reduced dielectric loss (≤0.0025) at high frequencies, enabling superior signal transparency for applications operating between 1 to 40+ GHz.

Heaterks D-glass fiberglass fabric ultra-fine filament diameter (~5–7 μm) supports smooth resin wet-out and uniform fiber-matrix bonding, ideal for producing thin laminates with tight electrical tolerances. Additionally, D-glass demonstrates:

  • Low thermal expansion, ensuring dimensional stability
  • Radiation resistance, proven in simulated space conditions
  • No alkali content, improving chemical stability and aging resistance

In aerospace and defense, D-glass is not intended for primary load-bearing structures, but is widely adopted in non-structural, RF-transparent enclosures where S-glass is over-engineered and E-glass introduces signal distortion.

- Features of Heaterk D-glass Fabric-

  • Dielectric constant ~3.0 – ~50% lower than E-glass
  • Minimal loss tangent ≤0.0025 at high frequencies
  • Stable dielectric behavior from -55°C to +200°C
  • Outstanding signal transparency across X-, Ku-, and Ka-bands
  • Chemically stable, alkali-free fiber
  • Low CTE, compatible with rigid RF substrates
  • Excellent radiation resistance for long-term orbital applications
  • Lightweight and ideal for non-load-bearing EM-transparent components
